United Methodist Church was established in Libertyville in 1836. The first building for the church was built at Milwaukee Avenue and School Street in 1881. In 1913, the congregation built a new church on Brainerd. This church building was expanded several times before being demolished for a new sanctuary in 1969. The 1-story educational building dates from 1957.
