Historic Info
From Illinois Digital Archives (provided by Libertyville-Mundelein Historic Society and Cook Memorial Public Library)--"The Record Shop opened at 118 East Cook Avenue in 1956 just east of the Ace Hardware building on the north side of the street. They sold jazz, popular, classical, ethnic, western, folk and Latin American LP phonographs. Another store under the same management was located at 7 South Genessee in Waukegan. The Libertyville shop remained in business until 1962. Just to the east of The Record Shop was Carl's Barber Shop."
